Wanting to calculate arc length? Use our arc length of curve calculator to do so, given the radius and the angle formed by the arc.
Arc length is a measure of the distance along the curved line of a circle and is an important concept in mathematics.

Calculation

Inputs

r
:20

θ
:45deg

Output

L
:15.71m

A
:157.1m2

Explanation

The distance that separates two points along a curve section is called arc length. Curve rectification approximates an irregular arc segment as connected line segments to determine its length.
The equation for the arc length of a circle is:

Arc Length=L=θrArc \space Length = L = \theta*r
arc length calculation

The equation for the area of the sector it creates is:

Area of Sector=θr22Area \space of \space Sector = θ*\frac{r^2}{2}
Where θ is the central angle in radians and r is the radius of the circle.
