This page provides some insight into the Pythagorean theorem, and provides some functions to help you calculate triangle dimensions - particularly side one and side two!

Calculation

Inputs

a
:3m

c
:5m

Outputs

b
:4m

Explanation

Using our Pythagorean theorem identity, we can easily rearrange to find one of the other side lengths, a or b.

a2+b2=c2a^2 + b^2 = c^2
To determine the length of side b:

b2=c2a2b^2 = c^2 - a^2
