Explanation
The torque output of a motor is the amount of rotational force that the motor develops. Torque is generated differently for different motors (DC, induction, synchronous). See the list below for an explanation of how torque is developed for each type of motor.
Motor torque can be calculated directly using the motor speed in RPM and the specified power rating.
