CalcTree
Welcome to the inductive reactance calculator! This page will use frequency and inductance input parameters to provide a reactance value. Reactance is a property of AC circuit components (inductors and capacitors) that is similar to resistance. The difference is that while resistance opposes the current flow, reactance opposes the change in the current flow.

Calculation

Inputs

Frequency
:50Hz

Inductance
:0.005

Output

Reactance
:1.57079633ohms

Explanation

When provided with an AC voltage, an inductor will produce a reactance. This reactance depends on the AC source frequency and the inductance value.

XL=2πfLX_{L} = 2\pi f L
Where:

X(L)=Inductorreactance(Ω)f=frequency(Hz)L=Inductance(H)X(L) = Inductor \: reactance \: (Ω) \\ f = frequency \: (Hz) \\ L = Inductance \: (H)
